Prominent Egyptian singer Hakim revealed that he regained control of his personal life and ended the court dispute with his former wife and is making time to see his children regularly. The singer stressed that all problems of the past have been buried and he was able to resolve everything and open a new page in his life.
According to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, Hakim also denied any future project to perform the character of the public singer Ahmed Adawiyah or any future duet with international singer Celine Dion.
The singer explained that the duet with Celine cannot happen due to the difference of type of singing between the two. However, he added that talks are taking place to have a duet with Janet Jackson and Paullina Ruby, in the song Hakim will sing in Arabic while Paullina will sing in Spanish and Janet will sing in English. It was added that international composer Tomas Ramsis will compose the song.
About his obsession with international duets Hakim said that on the contrary, all international singers are fascinated with Arabic tunes where the composer can maneuver more and be creative.
Hakim said the international company that he works with chose James Brown to sing the duet with Hakim, adding that he was so much fun to work with. Hakim added that a video clip can make a star these days, so he thinks that everyone should be given the chance to sing and compose and the fans will be the judges as to decide what's successful and what's not.
Regarding his latest work, Hakim said that he is working on his latest video clip for his song “Ihdarouna Ya Aalam”. The singer is also currently preparing to start his acting career in his first movie entitled “Ali spicy”, where he performs the character of Ali Abu Al-Ila who is a student in medicine school but he leaves his studies to be a singer despite his father's refusal. The movie is written by Bilal Fadel and directed by Mohammed Najar.
Sheikh Talal Fahed Al-Ahmad, head of the Olympic committee, recently invited hakim for a visit to Kuwait. Hakim held a press conference at the airport revealing that his visit is private and is just to see some very close friends. Hakim expressed his deep feelings of appreciation to the Kuwaiti people. He also revealed that the reason for not holding many concerts in Kuwait was due to his work contracts in so many places throughout the world.
Hakim explained that his continuous duets with well-known international singers are to promote the Arab singing and make it known to the world. He also added that Janet Jackson did not refuse to sing with him and the whole story was that Janet had done a song entitled “walk like an Egyptian” after the events of September 11th but the song was banned in the USA. Hakim offered Janet to sing the same song with her as a duet and she agreed and it's ready now in three languages, just waiting to be registered. The third version is sung in Spanish by singer Paullina Ruby.
Hakim added that he enhanced the Arabic song and made it reach world ears by singing duets with famous world singers like James Brown and Steve Wonder. The singer added that even though he is trying to add a western touch to his songs he criticized video clips and said that he does not like the new video clips where girls show up with seductive dresses and even with belly dancing outfits, he also added that this is against our Arab traditions. –Albawaba.com
