This is Erçel's second big project in another country. They wrote her first movie, Rüzgâra Yorum (Leave It to the Wind), together with the actor Barış Arduç. It was a huge hit in Russia. International movie theaters and the IVI platform were quick to show interest in her next story, İki Dünya Bir Dilek, after she achieved that success.
Erçel plays Bilge, a young lawyer in the new movie. She meets Can, an archaeologist played by Metin Akdülger. On New Year's Eve 1998, both of them are at the hospital for personal reasons. This is where their story starts. A wish they made that night changed their lives in ways they didn't expect years later.
Turkish actors like Hüseyin Avni Danyal, İdil Fırat, Serkan Tınmaz, Rami Narin, Eylül Su Sapan, Didem İnselel, Erdal Bilingen, İpek Erdem, Nazlıcan Demir, İhsan İlhan, İlayda Orkut, Mert Ege Ak, and Duygu Köse are also in the cast.
Hande Erçel sees İki Dünya Bir Dilek as more than just another part to play; it's a family project. She is said to have helped with the story and character development by combining sad feelings with a nostalgic look at fate and second chances.
With a touching plot, a great cast, and a partnership that works well between Prime Video and international distributors, İki Dünya Bir Dilek is sure to be one of the most talked-about movies of the year.
