Hande Erçel, Kerem Bürsin stand with Palestine

ALBAWABA - Many celebrities announced their support for the Palestinian people amid Israeli aggression in Gaza.

Several Turkish stars have also raised their voices in solidarity with Palestine with the latest being Hande Erçel and Kerem Bürsin.

Erçel, a Turkish actress and model, posted a statement for the UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell on her Instagram story and wrote: "Please stop war".

The post by UNICEF reads: "UNICEF strongly condemns the strike on the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza with hundreds of civilians reported killed and injured.

We call for the protection of all civilians, including children, and the infrastructure they rely on.

We need an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian access."

Meanwhile, Turkish actor Kerem Bürsin, who is well known for being a human rights defender has been silent since the start of the Gaza-Israel war on Oct. 7.

However, the famous star, Kerem Bürsin didn't share any photos or videos related to the war in Gaza, but he posted a black image on his Instagram story.

Stars have been changing their profile pictures to black or posting black images on their social media platforms to show solidarity with Palestinians and as a way to show mourning to the victims of Israeli airstrikes.

Queen Rania of Jordan also changed her social media profile photo to black to mourn victims in Gaza.

Furthermore, Berk Atan, a Turkish actor and model, also shared images of Israeli attacks in Gaza and voiced support for the Palestinian people. The actor was also very shocked by the attack on Al-Ahli Hospital on Oct. 17.
