Lebanese singer Hanin will soon bring the sultry sounds of salsa to the Middle East, performing with her Cuban group in Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and the UAE, according to the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.
Since her first performance at the Byblos Festival, Hanin has been the center of attention, grabbing the spotlight with complex Arabic and Caribbean rhythms.
Music industry titan Warner Brothers is marketing her recent album, Som Cobano, which contains songs by Arab mega-singers. Hanin remix these songs in an Arabic and Cuban mold.
The album includes the songs Ya Habibi Taala (My Love, Come Here) by Asmahan, Qalbi Wa Muftaho (My Heart and Its Key) by Farid Al Atrash, Kan Agmal Yom (It Has Been the Most Beautiful Day) by Mohammed Abdel Wahab, and Ahwak (I Love You) by Abdel Halim Hafez.
Hanin is going to fly to the US to participate in the promo campaign for her new disc – Albawaba.com
