Hoda Sharawi's Ugandan domestic worker was arrested and confessed to having committed this horrific crime, but she claimed that she was poisoned and starved by the Syrian actress.
The Syrian Ministry of Justice revealed details on Saturday regarding the murder of artist Hoda Shaarawi by her Ugandan domestic worker. The ministry released a video documenting the reenactment of the crime, emphasizing that the case is being pursued until justice is served.
The worker, who had been staying with Hoda since October 2025, said that on that night, she was very sick and tired, but Hoda told her not to touch anything or eat anything from the fridge, because you was already poisoned.
The woman also claimed that Hoda Sharawi refused to give her money to send to her family in Uganda and said that the actress told her she needs to stay for 4 more months so she can take her salary.
Syrian actress Hoda Shaarawi was best known for her role as "Um Zaki" in "Bab Al Hara" series. She was killed at 87.
