Syrian actor Hussein Abbas is currently shooting his new TV series Al Batarni, about the symbolic power of the forces of good in life on the high seas, according to the daily Syria Times.
Al Batarni is the hero of the sea, who was famed for his courage, strength, and good deeds. He met his end in Lattakia.
The series also tackles a number of important themes such as the civilization of the country and the distortion campaigns launched against them through the smuggling of antiquities and the looting of graveyards.
Abbas recently played a role in the new TV series Thee Qar, which the Syrian director Bassel Al Khatib recently wrapped up shooting.
Scripted by Jordanian writer Jamal Hamdan and costarring artists from Syria, Jordan, Palestine and Qatar, the series is an introduction to the historical battle Thee Qar Zi Qar and subsequent related events – Albawaba.com
