An upcoming Egyptian series deals with international arms sales and their connection with Zionist organizations, as well as the role of the Mafia in inciting sectarianism in certain Arab countries, according to the daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.
Wala Yazal Al Hubb Mustamerran (Love Is Ongoing) stars Hussein Fahmi, who plays an arm dealer who cheats an innocent woman (played by Shireen Seif Al Naser) by professing to love her to achieve his own goals.
Actress Ghada Abdel Razzaq, who plays the role of a girl working for a Zionist organization, said: “The role is difficult, and I was reluctant to accept it, particularly in view of the hatred towards Israel for its barbaric actions against Palestinians.
“But the role has many dimensions, as I have a relationship with an arms dealer and attempt to influence him in order to smuggle large amounts of armaments into Egypt to use them in igniting sectarian conflicts.”
The series director, Tayseer Abboud, told the daily that the series belongs to the detective genre and depends on suspense and excitement.
“We used, for the first time, a helicopter for pursing arm dealers,” he said.
“The Media Production City collaborated with a private production company in producing the series, which costs four million pounds,” added Abboud - Albawaba.com
