The latest celebrity workout sensation, Indo-Row, has arrived in the UAE for the first time, courtesy of Hilton Abu Dhabi. Credited as a transformative, total-body workout that challenges the body and focuses the mind, the rowing based exercise is already a favourite of A-list celebrities including Bradley Cooper, Cameron Diaz, Jason Patrick, LeAnn Rimes and Nicole Kidman, a statement said. Fitness fans have the option to sign up to Indo-Row classes in two formats: a team oriented circuit training session and as one group class. The circuit specific challenge, known as Shockwave, includes the Indo-Row machine to provide short-burst, high-intensity, calorie-torching intervals along with stations designed to target and chisel the legs, the core and the arms. Whereas the group class format captures all the elements of competitive, on-water rowing, creating a class that is fast-paced and engaging from the first minute. Each machine features the Indo-Row Race/Pace Coach monitor that provides instant feedback on pace, distance and calories, allowing individuals to gauge improvement in each class and over time. Indo-Rowers see progression quickly and can easily measure their performance in order to become better over time. Florin Prioteasa, Hilton Abu Dhabi health club manager and Indo-Row expert, said: “Indo-Row is an amazing action-packed, high-intensity yet low impact workout which is perfect for burning calories, sculpting the body and improving fitness levels, all while having fun in a group environment.” “Our team has been trained by the original Indo-Row experts themselves who came in from LA to introduce the program to the UAE, so we are privy to all the secrets to help our clients achieve their best possible body shape and fitness level. “From the very start of class, Indo-Row sets people up into teams, immediately creating a support system and camaraderie that carries through the entire class to the final simulated “race.” Strangers become teammates and instructors become coaches allowing the on-water team dynamic to build an electric energy that is as positive mentally as it is physically exhilarating.” Contrary to popular belief, rowing is not just an upper body workout as it works nine major muscle groups: quads, hamstrings, glutes, lats, core, shoulders, triceps, back and biceps. In addition to being an extremely effective cardio workout, Indo-Row challenges the body in a positive way and helps focus the mind, Prioteasa noted. Indo-Row is the brain child of LA based Josh Crosby, a renowned ultra-endurance athlete and world rowing champion, and Jay Blahnik, a premier fitness educator and award-winning instructor.
