Through a brazen stunt never before attempted in the Arab world, owner of the television group ‘Melody’, Jamal Marwan, publicly declared his divorce from his wife Jilan Samhoud by airing his grievances in a television commercial.
Marwan dared to post the court verdict from his divorce case by running the words on the screen, while an announcer with a deep baratone voice boomed out the judgment. The Egyptian businessman decided to run the caustic commercial all day long.
This chaotic break-up comes after 14-years of marriage. Marwan is the son of Ashraf Marwan, the political security advisor to the late Egyptian president, Anwar Sadat. Marwan’s mother is Muna Abd Al Naser, daughter of the late Egyptian president, Jamal Abdel Naser.
