Egyptian writer Feisal Nadda has recently finished the script for the new TV series Al Azbakiyya, which depicts the Nakba, Israel's creation and the subsequent mass displacement of the Palestinians, according to the Arabic daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.

The series tries to analyze the reasons for and dimensions of the war, and how the countries with global power collaborated to create Israel.

The 30-episodes series depicts the period between 1948 and 1952, before the revolution of July, through the life of the character of Al Sol Futouh (Warrant Officer).

He narrates to his family the story of the war, when he volunteered for service in the Egyptian army and lost his right hand, and the circumstances.

Mahmoud Mursi is going to play the role of Al Sol Futouh after he finishes shooting the TV series Banat Afkari, which is scheduled to be screened next Ramadan.

Al Azbakiyya will be directed by Magdi Abu Emeira as his first meeting with Mursi and Nadda – Albawaba.com
