Just two days before his 61st birthday, legendary Egyptian singer-actor Mohamed Mounir had a minor heart surgery in Cairo.
Although Mounir spent his special day (October 10) in hospital, he was swarmed with thousands of get-well and happy birthday wishes from his fans.
Still a fighter and rocker at heart, below is the first photo taken of Mounir on Friday afternoon following his surgery, courtesy of Youm 7 news.

Meanwhile, fellow Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki honored the ailing star by singing Mounir's "El Leilah Ya Samra" to the concertgoers at his Delta University concert in Cairo, while asking them to wish him a speedy recovery.
