Egyptian singer Mohammad Foad spends at least two hours daily before and after Iftar (breaking of fast) helping his son to memorize verses from the holy Quran. The weekly Nojom reported that Foad is taking all Ramadan off to dedicate his time to worshiping and to helping Abdul Rahman, his son, memorize all of the Quran.

The weekly reported that Foad is spending his time with his family and close relatives, and does not plan to undertake any work until the end of the holy month. The singer noted that “It is only once a year that a singer may get some time off to relax and devote himself to God and his family, and what better time to do this than Ramadan.”

Many other prominent singers such as Ragheb Alameh, have made the same decision to take time off during Ramadan and devote their time solely to worshiping God.

The last job Foad undertook before the beginning or Ramadan is the recording of a song entitled “Ya Barakat Ramadan” (Blessings of Ramadan), written by Antar Hilal and composed by Hasan Dunia, and the opening song for the TV drama “Imam Al Da’wa” (The biography of Sheik Sha’rawi). -Albawaba.com
