As decades gone by become part of 'history' with every passing year, things from that era are making a comeback as rare collectors' items, including Disney movies.

According to a report by Metro, some Disney VHS tapes appear to be selling for thousands of pounds on eBay, which translate to thousands of dirhams, up to Dh68,000.

But not all Disney VHS tapes were 'created equally', only those tapes marked with a black diamond on the side with the words Classics Collection are worth a fortune.

However, there is a catch. Although the tapes are being priced in the hundreds and thousands of pounds, in reality they are only selling for a couple of pounds.

Tony Pernicone, a fine art dealer that has been appraising Disney collectibles and memorabilia since 1981 told Metro that although the tapes are listed at exorbitant prices, they are not selling.

Here is a comparison of the listed price and the 'real' price:

A Cinderella (1950) Black Diamond VHS is selling on eBay for approximately £2000 (Dh9,000)

Reality: Approximately £7.

An Aladdin (1993) Black Diamond VHS tape is selling for approximately £1,300 (Dh5,871).

Reality: Approximately £20.

A Beauty And The Beast (1994) Black Diamond VHS tape is selling for £15,000 (Dh68,000).

Reality: Approximately £4.

The Jungle Book (1967) A Jungle Book Black Diamond VHS tape is selling for approximately £6500 (Dh29,000).
