Egyptian actress Nadia Al Jundi has been visiting a psychiatrist to learn about emotional reactions and humans behavior when exposed to severe psychological pressures.

The star wants expert advice in order to perform her role in the new film Al Raghbah (Desire) in a natural and convincing manner.

“I have visited the a psychiatrist and sought his help to get familiarized with the reactions of a human being when he is exposed to severe psychological pressures,” said the actress.

“This has helped me in playing my role…which depends on psychological performance,” she told the Cairo-based daily Akhbar Al Yawm.

“I have been impressed with this character, which caused me anxiety and shivering after each scene, to the extent that the director asked me to stop shooting and have some rest.

“But I preferred to make use of the psychological condition in favor of the character and role.”

The director, Ali Bader Khan, has built a complete neighborhood on the Alexandria Max shore to shoot natural outdoor scenes of the film. The shooting took 20 days, after which the cast moved to Egypt Studio to complete the shooting of the last scenes of the film, which will be printed in London.

Developing the script took 11 months due to the difficulty of transforming the text of American writer Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire into an Egyptian film depicting the country’s environment and lifestyle - Albawaba.com
