Syrian actress Suzan Najm Al Din is currently filming scenes in the new television drama "Kish Malik" (Check Mate), in which the sultry thespian plays the role of a crack journalist that fights corruption.
According to the magazine Laha, Suzan leaked that her character in the show is a combination of a number of popular female journalists, both Arab and foreign, like Egyptian controversial journalist Hala Sarhan (who exposed Mubarak's cronies' links to Egyptian prostitution rings) and American television goddess Oprah Winfrey.
The drama was at first titled, "La Tashrab Al Qahwah Ma Nihal" (Don't Drink Coffee with Nihal) but was shortened to "Kish Malik" to make it less of a mouthful.
Suzan turned down an offer to star in the drama "Fatah Min Al Sharq" (A Girl from the East) due to the fact that the script was not fully complete and she preferred freeing herself completely for the drama "Kish Malik".
