Egyptian artist Nelly is gearing up to take the starring role in the new TV series Kaff Arousah (Bride’s Palm), marking her return to the small screen after a two-year hiatus, according to the Arabic daily Al Ahram.
Nelly’s last appearance on TV was in the series Alf Leilah Wa Leilah (One Thousand and One Nights) a couple of Ramadans ago.
“I welcome returning to the TV and I yearn for my lovely audience, particularly in view of the fact that I consider TV my real home. I always wait for good work, which brings me back to the small screen. I'll meet for the first time, through a TV work, writer Muna Noor Eddin, whose writings I like. All I care about is a good script and a role in which I look good, without any repetitions in front of the audience,” the daily cited Nelly as saying.
Commenting on quiz shows, Nelly said: “There are no new ideas in them, so the audience isn't drawn to them like they used to be.”
“I am also gearing up to present a new 30-episode program entitled Studio Nelly (Nelly’s Studio), produced by the Media Production City and directed by Ashraf Luli,” added the star - Albawaba.com
