World famous Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti will be giving a single concert in Nicosia on June 9, accompanied by soprano Simona Todaro and the Russian Federation Presidential Orchestra, under maestro Leone Magiera.
Pavarotti gave a press conference Monday, saying he is familiar with the beauty of Cyprus and its people, through an earlier cooperation with Cypriot baritone John Modinos.
According to the official CNA news agency, Pavarotti said he knew Cyprus was the island of Othello and thanked the Cypriots for their warm welcome and compliments for his presence on the international musical stage. (Albawaba.com)
