Former 'The Voice' contestant Qusai Hatem had a bit of a surprise in store when he opened an email and was notified of his own death!
Attached to the email was a photo of Qusai with a black ribbon saying "Goodbye Qusai, we will miss you". Just hours later, social media sites were a-buzz with the rumours as the news of Qusai's tragic demise spread. His family began recieving letters of condoloences.
All of this must have been a bit of a shock for poor Qusai, who has confirmed that he is alive and well!
According to Arab magazine 'Laha', it was rumoured that Qusai got into a fatal car accident in Dubai with his brother Mohmmad.
Fellow celebs, such as Lebanese singer Assi Helani, rang up Qusai's family immediately and quickly found out that he was not dead!
Quashing the rumours once and for all, Qusai tweeted his fans to let him know that he was ok.
"I received a photo with a message that mourns my death after a supposed tragic accident in Dubai while I was with my brother Mohammad, I want to assure fans that I am doing great and was not in any accident as was rumored. In addition, I am not in Dubai and do not have a brother named Mohammad. I thank everyone who called to check up on me and I give my respect to all," he told his tweeps.
Qusai's father, renowned Iraqi singer Hatem Al Iraqi also took to Twitter to address the rumours. In 140 characters or less, Al Iraqi tweeted, "My dear fans, the news of my son Qusai's death is not true and a mere rumor".
