Glamorous Egyptian actress Ragda is currently participating in the Egyptian drama “al-karar al-Akheer” (the final decision), which is based on a story for the international author Nagib Mahfouz, and is to be directed by Hani Ismael. According to the London based daily, Quds al-Arabi, a man enters her life and she falls in love with him to find out later that he married her just to revenge from her brother. Ragda added that when she likes a work she refuses any other job offer until she finishes the first one, because she enjoys what she does and cannot work on two works at the same time.

Ragda said that she is against the new trend of youth comedy movies, and against their dominating of the market. She asserted on having other kinds of movies to satisfy all tastes and viewers.

Raghda had announced her return to television in the new drama series “Imra’a min Thahab” (A Woman Made of Gold) after a long absence from the silver screen. The actress has already begun filming some of the scenes for the series, which tackles social issues faced in most Egyptian family homes.

The drama talks about how most families in Egypt are faced with financial crises resulting from unpaid debts to banks. Raghda is to play the role of a wife whose husband borrows large sums of money then runs away leaving her to paying the debts and trying to make ends meet. The drama reflects the determination of how one woman strives to protect her home without the help of her husband.

Raghda recently produced a film that portrays the sufferings of the Iraqi children and the aftermath of the US-led war. The film begins with the theme of Christmas and panoramic scenes of Baghdad going into one of the churches with a story told by an actual priest.

The leading role of the film was given to a young boy who witnesses the death of thousands of Iraqi children since the 1991 Gulf War up to today. The film was translated into English and was aired on several western stations. The goal is to educate the world with the hazardous outcomes of war and how the damage caused is eternal on the people who survive it.
