Lebanese singer Ragheb Alameh arrived in Kuwait this week to hold performances at the Hala February Festival making it a point to put an end to all circulating rumors of his alleged cancellation. Upon his arrival, Kuwait TV held a short interview with him in which he expressed his joy at having the opportunity to be part of the festival and promised his audience a night to remember.

According to the Kuwait based daily, Al Watan, Raghib revealed that the new look he attributed lately is based on a previous desire to grow his hair long, and wearing sunglasses while playing a musical instrument makes him feel as if he is giving a live concert.

Ragheb received lots of negative and positive criticism regarding his new look and his most recent song "Tab Leah" (But Why), saying it is understandable that everyone holds a certain point of view and not all opinions are the same.

On a different note, Ragheb stressed that he does not intend on holding a second duet with Lebanese singer Alissa. He added that allowing her to hold a duet with him did not gain her popularity but instead introducing her to his audience and fans is what made her known.

Alameh is living the success of his new album “Tab Leah Kidda” (But Why is This?) all around the top music charts all over the Arab world and is currently undergoing special preparations for a tour around Europe starting in France and ending in London for Arabs abroad.

“Tab Leah Kidda” marked the first album for the forty-year old Alameh after joining the “Alam Al Fan” (World of Art) Production Company last year. The company’s producer, Mohsen Jaber, has dubbed Ragheb to be one of the most successful Arab artists the company has.

The ten-song album was a strong come back after his one and a half-year absence since the last album, “Saharouni Al Leil” (Your Eyes Kept Me Awake All Night). –Albawaba.com
