Last Saturday, Agouza Misdemeanor Court in Giza, Egypt issued the ruling in the lawsuit against Ramez Galal, in which he is accused of stealing the idea of his program "Ramiz Majnoun Rasmi" from Egyptian student, Hayam Kamal, to refer the case to the Economic Court for the final ruling.
A statement issued by the legal office of Egyptian lawyer Salah Bakhit, a representative of the student, Hayam Kamal, said that he had filed a lawsuit against the owner of MBC Group and artist Ramez Galal, presenter of the program, "Ramez Majnoun Rasmi," accusing them of infringing intellectual property rights in this show.
The lawyer added that the case was referred to Cairo Economic Misdemeanor Court because it is entrusted with the determination of intellectual property protection law.
Salah Bakhit added that his client, Hayam Kamal, is the owner of the idea of the show, and she shared it with Ramez's team, manager and director before Ramadan to cooperate with them in applying the idea and make it come to light.
Lawyer Bakhit explained that his client was surprised by the infringement of her registered and protected idea according to the law of intellectual property, and the written idea was stolen and literally applied to the show after Ramez's team obtained its details.
He pointed out that the idea was released for circulation without prior written permission from its owner, and MBC published a protected intellectual property in accordance with the provisions of the law, via television, computers and the Internet without prior written permission, which makes his client entitled to resort to law.
