London-based Lebanese visual artist Rasha Kahil caused an online uproar after posting naked pictures of herself in the name of art.

The nude pix were part of her “In Your Home” self-portrait series, which she began in 2008.

Kahil's artist statement on her official website reads: “Through my work, I explore the themes surrounding the gaze, and the dichotomy of the private and public through the recurrent use of the body as subject and object, to explore the Auto/Biographical. The body becomes a means for investigating displacement, social identity and its manifestation through everyday performance.”

Clearly, she's using her body as a means of investigating something here; but online users are just not sure exactly what she's trying to portray through those revealing images.

Rasha explained that through this series she has intuitively and secretly appropriated other people’s private spaces with her own nude body.

She further explained: “The privacy of my body overlaps with the privacy of the domestic space, and the resulting marriage is exposed through its confrontational display into the public sphere. The layers of appropriation are multiple: I invite you to peer into the privacy of my body while simultaneously taking over the privacy of another’s domestic space.”

What's your take on Miss Kahil's enthralling art project?
