Lebanese singer/actress Nicole Saba has joined the cast of the new film “Thaman Dastit Ashrar” (The Price of a Dozen Evils). Filming is scheduled to begin the first week of February.
The film stars Khaled Saleh, Mohammad Rajab, Yasmeen Abdul Aziz and Lutfi Labib, and is directed by Rami Imam and written by Khaled Jalal.
Jalal assured that Lebanese television announcer Razan Al Moughrabi had turned down her nomination for the role, since she is busy with her new television program “Shahrazan.”
According to the London based Elaph, film makers revealed they are confident Nicole will meet their expectations in playing the leading role, especially after the success of her film “Al tajruba Al Denmarkieh” (The Dutch Experience) alongside prominent Egyptian comedian Adel Imam.
In the new film, Nicole’s character encounters a gang of evil criminals who are able to control their victims, making it impossible for them to notify the police of their crimes. It is yet unknown whether Nicole will perform any songs throughout the film, which is scheduled for release this summer season.
On a different note, head of the Egyptian Musician’s Union, Hassan Abu Al Soud announced that the Council for the Management of the Union decided to ban Nicole from performing in Egypt until she resolves her legal disputes with Egyptian production company ‘Alam El Phan.’
The council based its decision on the complaint filed against her by her former producer and owner of ‘Alam El Phan,’ Muhsin Jaber.
Jaber filed a complaint against her claiming that she violated the terms of their contract, by filming music videos with different music channels.
Nicole explained that she appeared as a guest on a program aired by a satellite music channel, and during the program the host requested that she perform a song. Nicole did so, and the director of the program filmed Nicole’s performance as if it was a music video, later airing it on the network.
