Egypt's latest sensation Ruby has announced that she refuses to sing in anyone's wedding under any circumstance. The singer has been receiving numerous attractive offers from Egyptian businessmen to sing at weddings, but she turned them all down.

The singer's decision of not singing at wedding parties is the result of the advice given to her by Egyptian director Sharif Sabri, who also acts as her entertainment business consultant. Sharif has stressed that singing at weddings does not add to a singer's career, but on the contrary it may hurt their image.

Despite the fierce criticism campaign Ruby is facing currently, she has been nominated among a large list of singer to compete at the Arab Music Festival in Dubai taking place in May. The nominees where divided into several categories, best song for male singer, best song for female singer, best album, best male singer, best female singer, best new male singer, best new female singer, best Arabic video clip, and best Arabic new work and best joint work.

The nominees were chosen based on the highest sales for their songs and upon their popularity according to the fans who voted online and through mobile phones. Among the names to compete for the prizes were Nabil Shuail, Rashid al-Majid, Saber Rubai, Chab Mami, Chab Jelani, Mustafa Amar, Amr Diab, Rageb Alama, Kathem al-Saher, George Wassuf, Wael Kfory, Nawal Zogbi, Alissa, Nancy Ajram, Najwa Karam, Asala Nasry and many more.

Meanwhile the musician association in Egypt is still trying to find out the new residence for Ruby to bring her in for interrogation. Despite her public concerts that she holds once in a while but no one is able to know her new address, except Sherif Sabri who signed with her an unlimited monopoly contract to sponsor her work. The association decided to report Ruby to the police in order to arrest her and ban her from singing unless she gets permission according to the Egyptian musician association.

A Member of the Egyptian Musicians Association musician Hassan Abu Al Su’ood has publicly announced that Ruby is illegally practicing the profession of singing, which demands that legal actions must be taken against her. He stressed that anyone who attempts to practice singing without being a member of the association must be prosecuted by serving a jail sentence or paying a large fine. –Albawaba.com
