Born in 1960, Moroccan songstress Samira Saeed started down her road to fame with unusual strong songs composed by the late Baleegh Hamdi.
The singer immediately shot to fame with the songs Al Ghani Ba’adi Yomein (He Came After Two Days and Mish Hatnazil Anak Abadan (I Will Never Let You Go).
In 1987, Samira secretly married musician Hani Mhanna, who used to lead her musical group.
However, due to various undisclosed reasons, the marriage failed in divorce after only two years.
Samira remarried in the 90s. Her husband this time around was a Moroccan businessman. After the wedding, she went back to her homeland, where she bore her only son, Shadi.
Samira has been a field day for most tabloids and gossipmongers.
Some said that the singer has transformed her house into a brothel for the stars. Others said that the secret marriage between Lebanese singer Sabah and composer Baleegh Hamdi, took place in her house, adding that Samira was the reason behind Hamdi’s divorce to his first wife, another famous songstress Warda. The list is endless.
Her latest albums, Al Bal (In Mind) and Rouhi (My Soul) have re-ignited her somewhat sleeping career. Meanwhile, the singer has participated in various international events including the Moroccan Carthage Festival, Jordan’s Jerash Festival, the Syrian Mahaba Festival and many more.
