ALBAWABA - The trial for Sean "Diddy" Combs will start on May 5, 2025, which is less than a year from now.

Diddy and his defense team attended a hearing in New York City today where Judge Aaron Subramanian announced the ruling, according to various sources. His mother and prosecutors were also present.

Diddy is now in federal jail on allegations of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation of prostitution, and he has already pleaded not guilty.

According to a source close to Diddy, he has only been speaking with his defense counsel and getting visits from his family throughout his three-week stay in prison.

"His family visits him, and he consults with his lawyers. "Those are the only visitors he has," the insider said. "He needs to focus on his case, and that's all he does all day."

On the other side, Diddy's mother, Janice Smalls Combs, has denied the allegations against her son, stating in a statement released via her attorney on Sunday: "It is very sad to see my son being sentenced based on a narrative built on lies, not the truth."

"Watching what seems to be my son's public execution before he gets a chance to establish his innocence causes immeasurable grief. My kid, like any other human being, deserves to have his day in court to tell his tale and prove his innocence."

Referring to surveillance evidence of Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie at a hotel in 2016, Janice said, "I am not here to represent my son as flawless. He isn't. He has made errors in the past, just as we all have."

"My son may not have been completely honest about some things, such as his denial that he had become violent with an ex-girlfriend when hotel surveillance cameras showed otherwise."

Allegations of sex trafficking and organized crime led to Diddy's arrest in September 2024. The indictment alleges that Diddy "abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him" and that some of the alleged actions, which were to "fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct," occurred in 2009. He has pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Mark Agnifilo, Diddy's attorney, previously told Us magazine, "He's not a perfect person, but he's not a criminal." He said, "Please hold your breath until you get all the details. These are the activities of an innocent guy with nothing to conceal, and he hopes to clear his reputation in court."
