Egyptian folk singer Shabaan Abdul Rahim has very recently released a new single showing his support of reappointing President Husni Mubarak for a new term as president. In the song, Shabaan highlights the achievements of Mubarak during his 24-year in power.

Shabaan also released a music video for the song, which is currently being aired on the music channel Mazzika, and for the first time has refrained from wearing his usual multicolored shirts. In the song, Shabaan begins to talk about the expected success Husni will accomplish when he is reappointed.

On a similar note, Shabaan has also released another music video for the song “Ma Bahibish El Irhab” (I Don’t Like Terrorism), which he dedicated to the late Lebanese PM Rafiq Al Hariri, who was assassinated in February. Shabaan revealed that he was very upset when he watched the assassination of Rafiq and so he began asking about him and found out that he was a good man loved by all, a matter that prompted him to create a song.

Shabaan stressed that despite the fact that he did not Rafiq, he was very angry at the existence of terrorism, adding that he is positive Israel had a hand in the assassination. Rahim has become famous for singing his point of view about politicians and discussing in his songs the entire political situation the region and the world are going through. Shabaan adds that he fears some of his songs may backfire, yet he is willing to face anything as long as his thoughts are being expressed.
