ALBAWABA - Lebanese prominent composer Ziad Rahbani, son of great singer Fairouz, died at the age of 69 on July 26, 2025. However, the real cause of his death was not disclosed.

Last year, the Lebanese and Arab artistic community, in addition to his fans, were shocked by the death of the great Lebanese artist, Rahbani, who composed many of his mother's famous songs.

Fairouz was not only shocked by the death of Ziad; on January 8, 2026, her youngest son, Hali Rahbani, also passed away at the age of 68.

Reema Rahbani reveals the reason behind Ziad Rahbani's death:

Fairouz's only daughter, Reema Rahbani, said on Sunday that her brother Ziad died of a medical error and negligence.

Reema explained that the death of Ziad Rahbani resulted from "medical error or negligence," accusing doctors whom he trusted and whom he would not consult with anyone else.

She wrote on her Facebook account: "I will have to put the dots on the letters.. Ziad died due to a medical error or negligence from a doctor he trusted and who categorically refused to consult anyone else, and they apparently did not trust him! Negligence or a mistake, a very big mistake... May God not forgive whoever was the cause, even though, as a Christian, I should forgive, but for the first time I am unable to."

Who is Ziad Rahbani?

Ziad Rahbani is a Lebanese composer, pianist, playwright, and political commentator.

He is the son of Fairouz, who is one of the Arab world's most famous singers, and Assi Rahbani, one of the founders of modern Arabic music.

When Ziad Rahbani was 17, he composed his first music for Fairuz, his mother. His first appearance on stage was in "Al Mahatta", where he played the role of the detective. He also appeared later on in the Rahbani Brothers' "Mays el Rim" in the role of one of the policemen.
