Syrian director Najdat Anzor has cut his European trip short and went back to Damascus immediately after the Syrian actress Solaf Fawakhrji accused of stealing the drama series “Isa’al Rohak” (Ask your Soul). Najdat Anzor made sure that he will sue Fawakhrji for damaging his reputation and for falsely accusing him of stealing. Anzor believes that Solaf has damaged herself before damaging him and the courts will look into the matter.
The problem started when the actress Fawakhrji made public to the media her accusation toward the famous director accusing him of stealing the drama series that is her husband’s dream director Wael Ramadan and it is also written by her own mother Ibtisam Adeeb.
Solaf made clear that after making the deal with the ‘Banah Production Company’ that is owned by Najdat Anzor and his partner Imad Dahyeh to produce the series, there was a deal between them that her husband Wael Ramadan would direct the series and she would take the leading role in it and Abu Dhabi satellite channel bought rights to air it exclusively. To her surprise she found out that he did not follow the contract’s terms, where he assigned director Muhammad Sheikh Najeeb instead of her husband, and instead of her taking the leading role he gave it to the actress Jini Asbar.
Fawakhrji also added at an interview with the ‘Watan’ Syrian newspaper that the actors who were chosen to star in the series were replaced with other actors. Famous faces like Asad Fida, Samyah Al Jaza’eri, Amal Arafah, Abed Al Minaem Amayri and Solaf Fawakhrji were all replaced.
Fawakhrji also revealed that her husband, mother and herself were all threaten if they stopped working on the drama and went ahead with their accusations. She also adds that she holds Anzor responsible if anything happens to her and her family.
Fawakhrji concluded that she hopes the rights of actors and writers is protected in Syria so they won’t be forced or pushed away from their own country to look for acting jobs somewhere else.
