In a shocking twist, The Bold and the Beautiful has killed off one of its most notorious villains, Sheila Carter, who was stabbed to death by her archenemy, Steffy Forrester.
The fatal confrontation happened on the February 26th episode of the CBS soap, after Sheila broke into the beach house to kill Steffy.
Sheila, played by Kimberlin Brown since 1990, had been obsessed with getting close to her biological son, Finn, and his family. She had even married Deacon Sharpe, Hope’s father, to gain access to Finn’s son, Hayes. However, Steffy, Finn’s wife, was determined to keep Sheila away from her husband and child, fearing that Sheila would harm them as she had done to many others in the past.
Steffy, played by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, had confronted Sheila at the restaurant where she worked, and the two women had a physical fight. Steffy had told Sheila that the only way she would ever feel free of her was if she was dead. Sheila had vowed to make Steffy pay for her words, and had followed her to the beach house, where she planned to shoot her.
However, Steffy had anticipated Sheila’s move, and had armed herself with Stephanie’s gun. When Sheila reached into her bag, Steffy pulled the trigger, but missed. Sheila then lunged at Steffy, and the two women struggled on the floor. Steffy managed to grab a butcher knife from the kitchen, and stabbed Sheila in the chest, killing her instantly.
The shocking scene left fans stunned, as they witnessed the end of one of the most iconic characters in soap history. Sheila had been a crossover villain on both The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless, and had caused havoc for many of the show’s characters, such as Lauren, Eric, Brooke, Ridge, Taylor, and Quinn.
In an exclusive interview with TV Insider, Brown said that leaving the show was “a tough place for me to be in right now,” and that playing Sheila was “my happy place where I have been so blessed to be for over 35 years.” Wood also expressed her sadness at losing her co-star, and said that the stabbing would lead to “an emotional roller coaster for Steffy.”
