The ancient Greco-Roman city of Jerash provides a beautiful backdrop for some world-class entertainment this summer!

Founded in 1981 by Queen Noor al-Hussein, the Jerash Festival is an annual showcase of cultural and popular entertainment, set against the stunning scenery of the floodlit colonnades and monuments of the old city.

This year's festival opens on Thursday 23 July  with Jordan's own Omar Abdallat, who is credited with popularizing Bedouin music. There is a Lebanese invasion with Maya Diab, Wael Kfouri, Yara, Nancy Ajram, and Ramy Ayach on the programme, as well as flamenco, Mauritanian, Palestinian, Chinese, Turkish and Egyptian acts set to perform.

The festival runs until Saturday the 1st of August.
