Egyptian superstar Ruby is scheduled to hold a number of concerts outside of Egypt, a precedent for her career.

The first performance will take place in Jordan alongside Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury, and Ruby will also hold performances in Syria, Lebanon, and possibly Tunisia.

Director Sharif Sabri has denied circulating rumors that he intends on producing a new television drama called “Ba’et el Ward” (Flower Girl) starring Ruby.

Rumor had it that the television drama revolves around the success story of a young woman, who while selling flowers on the street falls in love with a director. He eventually casts her and she is born a star.

Sabri stressed that entering the small screen is neither on his agenda, nor Ruby’s, and he “does not know how people can create such detailed lies.”

Ruby recently released her latest music video “Ib’a Abilni” (Meet Me), under the direction of Sabri, which many consider to be her most provocative clip.

Throughout the video Ruby dons revealing costumes resembling the garb worn during the time of the ancient Pharaohs, and dances in a provocative manner. Critics have accused Ruby and her business manager of going over the line by portraying Egyptian heritage in such a manner, but the singer argues she has not presented anything other than her usual style.
