Syrian scenarist Qamar Al Zaman Alloush has recently written two scripts for production by an Iranian company.

The first of the two addresses the roots of the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict from a historical perspective, according to the daily Syria Times.

The second tackles the biography of Saladin, the Arab Muslim leader who defeated the Christian Crusaders and liberated the Arab lands.

Earlier, Syria and Iran cooperated in producing a feature film titled Al Mutabaqi (What Remains For You), based on a story by the late Palestinian writer Ghassan Kanafani, dealing with the suffering of Palestinian people as a result of their expulsion from their homeland.

Al Mutabaqi costars the Syrian actress Salma Al Massri, Bassam Kusa, Jamal Sleiman and Jiana Eid.

Alloush has wrote scripts for many important TV series, such as Jawad Al Leil (Hours of Night), based on Victor Hugo’s masterpiece The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Lail Al Musaferin (Nights of Passengers) – Albawaba.com
