We hear of some people receiving honorary university degrees, but rarely do we hear of someone receiving an honorary passport. Well, Ragheb Alama managed to bag one.

The Arab Idol judge is to receive an honorary Palestinian passport courtesy of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Now that's something to show off about! Particularly given that some Palestinians can't get one!

This comes as as  token of appreciation for Ragheb's constant support and care for Arab Idol winner Mohammad Assaf, and the love, loyalty and affiliation he showed towards the Palestinian people throughout the entire Idol competition.

Close sources to the President told “Ad-Dustour” newspaper that “Abbas' decision to honor Alama stemmed from the fact that he persistently linked Assaf's talent, creativity and success to the Palestinian people's ability to be giving and productive, despite the hardships they have to live through on a daily basis.” We couldn't agree more Mr. President!

And if receiving an honorary passport isn't exciting enough, the lucky singer will also be receiving Palestinian Armors as a further thank you for all his efforts. We're so jealous!

Do you guys think Ragheb should have received an honorary passport?
