Lebanese singer Yuri Imrakadi is still enjoying the success of his first film “Al Hayah Muntaha Al Litha” (Life’s Ultimate Desire) alongside prominent Egyptian actor Hannan Turk.

Yuri was awarded a prize for ‘Best Actor’ at the Egyptian Cairo film festival for his role in the film, in addition to an Egyptian Oscar.

The singer recently released his latest music video for the song “Ansak” (To Forget You) from his new album “Ya Assi” (Heartless). The clip that was directed by Salim Turk features several scenes with the late Egyptian diva Suad Husni.

Yuri explained that he included Suad Husni in the clip to send a message to today’s female stars that being seductive does not mean a woman must expose her entire body.  A woman can appear conservative yet sexy, he continued. Yuri considers Suad to be one of the most important stars of the Arabic cinema.

On a different note, Yuri is in the process of working on his upcoming album with a number of Egyptian and Lebanese composers.

Previously, producer Mai Imsahal filed a complaint against Yuri to the ‘Actors Association’ and to the ‘Cinema Chamber’ demanding his acting career be brought to and end and to halt the screening of “Al Hayat Muntaha Al Litha.”

Members of artist associations held mediation sessions between Yuri and Mai to try and resolve their disputes, but failed due to Mai’s instance that the singer had wronged her.

In 2003 Mai contracted with Yuri for him star in the film “Kawalees” (Behind the Scenes) alongside Nelly Kareem. Yuri had accepted part of his salary in advance as a down payment, and Mai set the dates for him to begin filming.

After reading the script Yuri made a call to the producer stating that he refused to portray a Jewish character.
