HBMeU to host pioneering e-Career Fair focusing on 'Innovative Ways to Explore New Career Options'

As part of its vision to create an integrated knowledge environment for individuals and institutions and to stimulate innovation and creativity, Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU), a leader in the field of e-Learning and quality management in the Arab World, announced at a press conference, the launch of the first e-Career Fair under the banner “Innovative Ways to Explore New Career Options”. HBMeU will be the first university in the UAE to host such a prominent electronic event, which is expected to have a positive impact on the local job market. 

The HBMeU’s first e-Career Fair, which will be held from March 8 to 10, 2011, serves as an ideal platform to promote electronic communication and interaction between the university students and representatives of the participating authorities and establishments from both the public and private sectors. Moreover, the fair will highlight the key aspects of making effective decisions with regard to the recruitment of highly experienced and competent national young cadres. 

The Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), the region’s leading destination for international higher education and a member of TECOM Investments’ Education Cluster, will take part in the fair as a supporting sponsor in line with the strategic partnership between HBMeU and DIAC. 

Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMeU, said: “The fair has generated support from government and semi-government departments, which have expressed their strong interest to participate and sponsor the event. In addition, the event has gathered a number of private sector companies seeking to expand their labour force by attracting promising young talents. Through this fair, we aim to assist students who are in search of job opportunities to meet their career aspirations and enhance their professional development. Moreover, we seek to supply government and private authorities with qualified human resources that are up to the highest standards of excellence and creativity, and to increase awareness of the important role of information technology in terms of promoting the growth of the labour market and facilitating recruitment processes. This will ultimately help improve operational efficiency and productivity in various vital sectors.”
