Honeywell’s, UK Process Solutions and Building Solutions business units, have been recognised for their commitment to the health and safety of their global workforce by the British Safety Council, which has given the company two prestigious International Safety Awards.

Supported by the Health and Safety Executive, the awards acknowledge the commitment that winners have made to improving corporate health and safety and achieving high safety standards. This year there were more than 600 applications from across the world.

Julie Nerney, chief executive, British Safety Council, said: “This year we decided to raise the bar and by doing so we have seen an exceptional standard of applications. I would like to congratulate all winners on this achievement and they should all be very proud. It is great to have such dedicated organisations with us on the journey towards excellent health and safety standards.”

Peter Lythgoe, health and safety leader EMEA, Honeywell, commented: “Because people are our greatest asset, consideration for the health and safety of our employees is part of Honeywell’s DNA. Our ethos is embedded into all our working practises, across all our facilities. We’ll continue to set the bar high and deliver best practice, allowing our employees to work in an environment where they can focus on providing outstanding service to our customers.”

The International Safety Awards are open to all industries and sectors from across the globe and are independently adjudicated. They serve to motivate businesses looking to attain high standards in workplace health and safety.

The International Safety Awards are judged by an independent panel of experts who look for hard evidence of how an organisation maintains acceptable standards of health and safety on the ground.

The British Safety Council is one of the world’s leading advocates of workplace health and safety. Our vision is that no one should be killed, injured or made ill by their work. We would be grateful if you could use British Safety Council in full rather than abbreviating to BSC when quoting our organisation.
