ALBAWABA - A fire erupted at a building near a major hotel in northern Tehran, ISNA reported on Monday.
According to the Iranian news agency, a building adjacent to Hotel Esteghlal caught fire, rising heavy smoke into the sky.
Sources revealed that thick black and white columns of smoke were spotted, as flames in the nearby building were visible.
Iranian state television (IRIB) correspondent at the site said that authorities are working to evacuate guests from inside the hotel "to ensure their safety".
There were no immediate reports of casualties, as an investigation was launched to determine the causes of the fire.
