A Cairo court has ordered Egyptian singer Angham to pay 5,000 Egyptian pounds in compensation to the music production company ‘Alam El Fan’, owned by Muhsin Jaber.  The company filed a lawsuit against Angham for performing three songs without permission.

The company claimed that it owns the rights to three songs that were sung by Angham. Jaber said he was shocked to discover that Angham had sung the songs during a televised concert in 2007, without taking permission from the company.

Angham recently released a song titled “January,” which she dedicated to the men and women of Egypt’s 25 January Revolution that overthrew the government of former Egyptian President Husni Mubarak.
