Lebanese signer Amal Hijazi stated that she was deeply hurt by the recent rumor that began spreading about her husband being a spy and that her latest song “Waylak Min Allah” (God Will Punish You) was her way for getting back at her husband for his betrayal. The singer stressed that the song in no way has anything to do with her husband.
Amal revealed that she is fully convinced that most men betray their wives in reality, but there are those who are loyal and never betray.
Amal also denied stealing the idea of the clip from the recent Egyptian movie “Wilad Al Aam” (Cousins) or any other movie or television drama that tackles the theme of betraying one’s country. Amal stated that the theme of betraying one’s country is a general subject that is not limited to a film or a television drama.
The reason the singer chose the theme of betrayal to one’s country is based on the fact that the singer wanted to emphasize that betrayal is not limited to a love relationship but is a broad subject and can be looked at from numerous angles.
With regards to her relationship with her husband, Amal stressed that numerous rumors had been created about her getting a divorce, but she refused to make any comment stressing that answering such rumors is the goal of those who create them. Amal added that she and her husband are happily married and their relationship is based on love, understanding and respect.
The song “Waylak min Allah” is Amal’s return to the music scene after an absence that lasted for two years. Amal revealed that her absence was due to her pregnancy and giving birth. The singer said that her first priority is always her husband and son followed by her career.
