ALBAWABA Eid Al Fitr, otherwise known as the 'Holiday of Breaking the Fast,' holds immense cultural and religious significance for Muslims around the world, including in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This joyous celebration marks the end of Ramadan, a month-long period of fasting, prayer, and reflection.

In the UAE, the beginning of Ramadan is eagerly anticipated, and astronomers play a crucial role in predicting the start of this sacred month. According to their calculations, Ramadan is expected to commence on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Muslims observe fasting from dawn to sunset during this period, refraining from food, drink, and other physical needs as an act of self-discipline, spiritual growth, and empathy for those less fortunate.

As the holy month progresses, the anticipation for Eid Al Fitr builds among the Muslim community in the UAE. The exact date of Eid Al Fitr is determined by the sighting of the new moon, signaling the end of Ramadan.

Based on current predictions, Eid Al Fitr is expected to be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, nearly a month after the commencement of Ramadan.

Eid Al Fitr is a day of joy, gratitude, and generosity. On this auspicious occasion, Muslims gather for special prayers, expressing their thanks for the strength and self-discipline exhibited during Ramadan. Families come together to share festive meals, exchange gifts, and engage in acts of charity.

It is also customary to give Zakat al-Fitr, a form of charity, before the Eid prayers to ensure that even the less fortunate can partake in the festivities.
