The Centre for the Study of Built in Environment (CSBE) have developed an interactive map of Amman detailing the locations of street art in the city. The map allows users to see where the artwork is located, as well as providing key information and a snapshot of the work.
Previously graffiti artists in Amman have faced problems with the authorities over painting in public places, but graffiti art is becoming increasingly accepted and is really starting to shape the Amman city scape.
In an interview with Jordanian street artist Suhaib Attar Al Jazeera reported that street art in Amman is a relatively new phenomena, still regarded as unconventional and in the beginning stages of social acceptance.
If you are interested in checking out their map yourself visit their website.
CSBE also state that they wish to document works of street art in Amman and encourage you to get in touch with any suggested works and additions to their existing map.
