Five people were killed and ten others injured Monday after two containers of fireworkers caused a massive fire in Jordan's Customs Department, the Civil Defense Department told The Jordan Times.
The fireworks, illegal in Jordan, were being investigated and held in the Customs Department yard in the Abu Alanda area.
The hashtag #CustomsAmman began trending in the country as Jordanians took to social media to share their videos of the incident in southern Amman. Firefighters rushed to the scene to try to extinguish the blaze.
Videos showed a large cloud of black smoke rising as you can hear the sounds of fireworks exploding.

— القائد مُجاهِد (@MujSarakbi) October 26, 2015While fireworks are still commonly used in Jordan, especially for celebrations like Eid, this new incident had residents calling on better procedures on illegal products held at Customs. Some Twitter users demanded to know how such a fire could happen, urging more oversight.

God give mercy to the individuals who lost their lives and 'we are to God and we are coming back to him (a saying after somebody dies),' and cure those whose were hurt and bring them back to their families safe."
