A Cairo man has been murdered by his mother and sisters after expressing a desire to leave his second wife, local media has reported.

The 32-year-old man, known only as Heed A.M, was rushed to hospital after receiving stab wounds in his lower abdomen, and later died in hospital.

On arriving at the scene of the crime, investigators discovered that Heed’s injuries had resulted from an argument with his mother, which had escalated into a physical fight between parent and son. His two sisters also allegedly became involved in the altercation.

The cause of the argument, reports say, was the killed man’s desire to leave his second wife, which his relatives took issue with.

The report noted that the man's mother worked as a vegetable seller, although did not state whether this had a relation to the method, or nature, of the crime.

The family was apprehended and now face being charged with committing the killing. An investigation has been opened into the case.
