Rebels in Syria's southern city of Daraa reported the capture of Brigade 52 from the Syrian army on Tuesday. Located on the outskirts of Daraa province's largest city Harak, the base's overtake would the latest in a string of successes for rebels on the Southern Front, if confirmed.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told the BBC the rebels launched on Tuesday a dawn offensive on the brigade, clashing with pro-government forces through the morning and left casualties on both sides — 20 Syrian army and pro-government personnel, and 14 rebels.
Syria's state news agency Sana, meanwhile, has yet to comment.
Now, rebel brigades are taking to social media with footage of the area — and the spoils — they say came after the reported retreat of government forces. Have a look at a few videos below.
Here, rebels claim to be shooting off Russian made Katyusha rockets, which called Katyusha MRLS in the field and shoot off explosives to a more targeted area than traditional rockets.
And here, where the rebels overview the "spoils" they acquired during the takeover. According to the BBC, some 2,000 rebels participated in the offensive on the base.
And finally, a diagram of the rebels groups said to have participated in the offensive, via Twitter.
