Director Samih Al Shawadi has nominated young Egyptian actress Dina Sameer Ghanem to play the role of Egyptian actress Shadia, now retired, in her younger years in the new television drama “Qamar La Yagheeb” (A moon that does not disappear).
Dina’s mother, Dalal Abd Al Aziz, has been nominated to play the role of Shadia in her older years in the new series.
Script writer Maher Zahdi has begun writing the episodes for the drama, which is scheduled to be aired during the 2011 Ramadan season. The drama is about Shadia’s life and career, including wearing a hijab (Islamic female headdress).
