Syrian director Najdat Anzour has joined the list of Syrian directors that migrated to Egypt to work on a new project titled “Fi Hadrit Al Gha’ib” (In the Name of the Missing), which tackles the life of the late renowned Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.
Najdat was nomination came after Syrian artist Firas Ibrahim personally requested that he directs the drama. Firas had held numerous meetings with Yousif Othman, head of the Media City Production, and decided that the production of the drama be a joint project between Egypt and Syria, according to the UAE based Al Bayan.
Previously, prominent Egyptian actor Nour Al Sharif was nominated to portray the life of Mahmoud, but Nour had declined his nomination due to his preoccupation with other projects.
