“abc celebrates president’s day”
The American Business Council (ABC) of Dubai and the Northern Emirates celebrated President’s Day on February 15, 2008 at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Hotel. The celebration hosted over 400 ABC members and guests.
ABC President, Anne Jafery, welcomed distinguished guests, ABC members, and families. “Thank you for coming today to recognize and honor U.S. President’s Day. Whether you like the president’s policies and positions is not at issue today. The point is we as American’s have the right and privilege to choose our leadership. Our country has been led by some great men of whom we celebrate today”, she stated. Mrs. Jafery introduced Cathy Sutphin, who spoke on behalf of the US Consul General, Paul Sutphin.
The afternoon was filled with a barbecue lunch, games and activities for all ages. DJ Marky Mark provided musical entertainment and served as a referee for the annual Mom’s vs. Dad’s, Tug of War. This year, the victory was reclaimed by the Dad’s. As the sun set on Dubai Marina, an unforgettable day was enjoyed by all.
