10th edition of the exhibition carrefour international du bois nantes – 28, 29 and 30 may 2008
The City of Nantes, near Paris, will host the 10th Edition of the Carrefour International du Bois (timber show) from the 28th to 30th of May. Unique in Europe, this biannual event has become THE international trade fair for timber professionals who will find wood essences from all over the world. The entire range of timber products will be on display, from sawyers to industrial manufacturers, not to mention panel and parquet manufacturers, building products, merchants and import-export agents.
The trade fair strives to fulfil three main needs: those of professional visitors who are specialists in wood and the wood trade, those of exhibitors who are solely manufacturers of timber products, and a need to create an open atmosphere – facilitated by a well spaced exhibition area with an expressly limited sized stands so that all attendees, from the SME to the multinational, can interact on an equal footing.
In order to respond to the continued growth in timber construction in France and in Europe, the event created a special area in 2006, dedicated to building products: the Timber Techniques & Solutions Area. This area will be developed further in 2008, bringing together the entire array of semi-transformed products (timber frames, I-beams, parquet, panels and timber construction kits, etc). Meetings with exhibitors and technical conferences will be organised to respond to the ever growing demands of building professionals.
The Carrefour International du Bois 2008 will once again enable everyone to optimise their business approach by bringing together French and international products under one roof for three days. Some 9,000 visitors, including 15% from abroad were thus able to meet with 470 exhibitors from 28 countries during the 2006 edition.
About Carrefour International du Bois:
Created and organised in 1990 by Atlanbois (Association for the promotion of timber in the Loire Valley Region) and by the Port Authority of Nantes Saint Nazaire, the Carrefour International du Bois is also a market observatory, a special and informative meeting place. Furthermore, associations, professional organisations and companies often take advantage of the occasion to organise their general assemblies or meetings. 20 such meeting took place in 2006.
