ALBAWABA- At least 13 people were killed, and two others were injured in a tragic collision between a cement-loaded truck and a microbus on the Qusiya Agricultural Road in Assiut Governorate, southern Egypt.

According to security and medical sources, the injured were promptly transferred to a hospital in the city of Assiut for treatment, while the victims' bodies were transported to the morgue at Qusiya Central Hospital.

 Authorities have filed an official report, and the case has been referred to the public prosecution for further investigation.

Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, Maya Morsy, directed immediate action to support the affected families. Relief teams, including the Egyptian Red Crescent, were deployed to assist.

She offered her condolences to the victims' families and emphasized the need to intensify support efforts for both the bereaved and the injured.

To provide immediate relief, the Minister announced a payment of 5,000 Egyptian pounds for each deceased victim’s family through the Assiut Social Solidarity Foundation. 

This aid will continue until official documentation is finalized, ensuring that families receive the full assistance allocated to them.
